Reception Work Groups
As part of the Best Start in Life strategy for 2026/27, we are delighted to offer a range of professional development opportunities to strengthen the teaching and learning of early mathematics.
Schools can take part in the revised Mastering Number at Reception and KS1 Work Group and the NEW SKTM Reception Teachers Programme, both designed to develop teachers’ subject and pedagogical knowledge and support strong foundations in mathematics.
For eligible schools, tailored support is also available through Targeted Support in Mathematics (TSM), providing bespoke support to address specific priorities and improve outcomes for pupils.
